Pileated Woodpeckers
When a new post appears, any photos from older posts are moved to an album in the Photo Gallery
What a pleasant surprise yesterday as I watched a male pileated woodpecker land at its nest site. I quickly took a picture of it and as soon as the picture was taken the bird flew away. I waited to see if another one might be around the nesting site, but no activity was seen. Upon arriving home I transferred the picture to my computer, and to my surprise you can see the female pileated woodpecker looking from its nest. I did not see the bird in the nest when the picture was taken.
Enjoying watching the abundance of wildlife in the Cole Harbour Heritage
Park.
