Bissett Lake Trail - Over 24 hours and three loads of concrete rejected at the site, the abutments (the large concrete blocks on which the bridge will sit) for the bridge were completed yesterday afternoon. The bridge will be ordered Monday and delivered to the Terra Marine yard. The placement of the bridge will depend on the curing time for the abutments, somewhere between 14-28 days. The consultant took several core samples and these will be analysed to determine the required cure time. The only discernible progress before the bridge placement will be the removal of the forms into which the concrete was poured. Attached are two photos of the work yesterday.
